Aggressive trading and aggressive playcalling propel the 49ers over rival and division leading Cardinals!
49ers Press Release
Reporter: 1st and foremost coach congradulations on your 1st win of the season, how are you feeling right now?
Coach Majestic: Well I feel like a great weight has been lifted off of my shoulders, we came in with a plan and the team executed it perfectly, I couldn't ask for a better performance.
Reporter: Well coach I think its safe to say that today was a crossroads for you and your team. After taking over this 0-2 49ers team you also would lose 2 which put you at the bottom of the NFC West and many people started questioning whether you were the right man for the job, you made some questionable trades getting rid of many fan favorites and what most people would call the faces of the team, how do you feel about that?
Coach Majestic: Well first let me say I have been a 49er fan all my life, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to be coaching this great team. The 49er orginization brought me here to do 1 thing and thats win. I came here with the mindset that I would do whatever needed to be done to get this team back to winning. No friends, no faces of the team, no fan favorites, my job was to put together the best 49ers team I could and I think I am getting very close to accomplishing that. I know people were sad to see Pat (Willis) and Frank (Gore) leave, fans loved Michael (Crabtree) and Manny (Lawson) but the fact is that team wasn't winning, those guys are great and I think they will do good where they are at now, but we want whats best for our team.
Reporter: What a dramatic turnaround though, from being blown out 2 weeks in a row to stunning the division leading Cardinals who are also frontrunners to represent the NFC in the Superbowl. Did you think the turnaround would happen this quickly and be this effective?
Majestic: To tell you the truth I still see ourselves as having a long way to go, I knew this new team would make some noise, and I know we can hand with the best teams in this league, but I did expect a bit more of a learning curve and a bit more time to mesh better. We got some lucky breaks against the Cards but we also played a nearly perfect game, from the passing game, to the secondary, to special teams to the trenches, it was a really good game.
Reporter: Speaking of the trenches, it was a really good game for both sides of the ball. You limited a Cardinals team that was averaging more then 100 yards a game to 54 yards on the ground, you also forced the young star QB Jack English into costly mistakes by hitting him early and often, is this what we can expect from this team week in and week out?
Majestic: You know that is one thing that I will speak about, I am really proud of my defense after this performance, to limit such a great young backfield to just over 50 yards in this game was a feat in itself, but they also sacked Jack (English) 10 times, forced 2 interceptions and 2 forced fumbles, they really did play a complete game.
Reporter: What was the key to having such a successful defensive game?
Majestic: Well we had a gameplan and we stuck to it, we wanted to come out and be aggressive, we wanted to hit them till they didn't want to be hit again, we especially wanted to get to English and fustrate him, we brought blitzes from every direction, cbs, safeties, olbs, mlbs we blitzed him from everywhere, the main thing we wanted was confusion and I think we accomplished that which in turn helped us win.
Reporter: Who would you say were the players of the game?
Majestic: Well I think everything starts up front on defense and we are fortunate enough to have one of the best DTs in the League. DT Abrayo Franklin finished the game with 5 tackles and 4 sacks. You also have on the defense Parys Haralson who finished with 4 tackles, 2 sacks, and 1 int. On the offensive side you have newly acquired WR Calvin Johnson Jr. he finished with 4 receptions for 160 yards and a TD.
Reporter: Next up you have the New York Giants, what is the gameplan?
Majestic: Our gameplan is simple, play our game and take them out of theirs. They have a great young team lead by young QB Eli Manning and RB Brandon Jacobs we have to hit jacob early and often and force them to be 1-dimensional, we have to get to eli and force him into mistakes, and we have to execute on offense. Sorry guys i have to go now, see ya guys next week.

To rebuttle the scouting report against me.

Calvin was wide open broke a tackle and took it to the house, if Calvin is 1 on 1 and has a step then I'm throwing it up, if he's wide open I and throwing a strike.

Vernon was wide open no safety or anything on that side of the field since gold was killing my running game with SS Barkley. Charles got decent yardage when barkley wasn't killing him, but most of the time Barkley was there, and every hit was a potential injury and/or fumble.

Here are 3 sacks, 1 is a simple safety blitz out of the dime package, man coverage I beat the RT and got a sack. The other 2 are both coverage sacks, man coverage, both safeties deep, 3 man rush with a spy. I won't say I don't blitz because I blitz about 75-85% of the time, but I play zone and straight man as well, gold ate up my man coverage with Olsen and killed my straight zones with Englishs/Tribows mobility and his recievers came open. I mix up my defense as much as the next guys and I definately do not nano.
