Welcome to the Baltimore Sun Online Blog.
Here we discuss recent Baltimore Ravens games and other relevant league issues. Were starting this edition in Week 7 where the Ravens faced off against a Divisional foe the Cincy Bengals. But first here is a quick recap of the season thus far:
Week 1: Redskins VS. Ravens
Final Score: 24-31
Week 2: Giants @ Ravens
Final Score: 49-55
Week 3: Chiefs VS. Ravens
Final Score: 14-52
Week 4: Bills VS. Ravens
Final Score: 21-45
Week 5: Browns @ Ravens
Final Score: 47-35
Week 6: Steelers @ Ravens
Final Score: 21-51
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Week 7: Bengals @ Ravens
Final Score: 35-52
This game was back and forth, something you'd expect in the first match up of the year between these two teams. The Bengals came into this game with a 2-3 record looking to get the win today to put them at .500. The Ravens entered this game with a 5-1 record after beating another divisional rival the week before scoring 51 on the Steelers.
Despite the high score, it was a close game until the Ravens finally shut the door shut on any chance of a comeback for the Bengals. They scored 21 points in the 4th quarter to seal the deal for their 6th win of the season. The Ravens run game was no where to be found as the Bengals clogged up holes for both RB's Turner and Boates. Together they had 37 yards on 15 attempts.
With the Ravens run game being shut down they were forced to move the ball through the air. Not a bad circumstance considering the Ravens put up 455 passing yards on the Bengals pass D.
Notes of the game:
Bengals - DT - S.Williams got hurt on his very 1st play for his new team. He is out for 2 weeks with a Dislocated Elbow.
Ravens - Rookie QB A.Parris started the game for the Ravens but was pulled for J.Skelton and M.Leinart. The coach did however put Parris in as a sub in the redzone which led to a passing TD for Parris. Parris has scored a Passing TD in every one of his career games keeping the streak going at 7 games.
Ravens - WR's D.Alleyne(Rookie) & B.James combined for 15 catches and 350 yards with 2 TD's each.
Ravens - MLB rookie G.Crane got his team high 4th INT last game, and to make to make it even better he took it all the way to the house scoring his 2nd TD of the year.
