NFC Championship Game: 1) Carolina Panthers 16-1 vs. 3) Minnesota Vikings 15-3
Carolina Analysis: The Panthers dominated the Cowboys in the divisional round as the Panthers up 45 as they cruised to the NFC Championship Game. HB Jamaal Charles was the breakout star as he seemingly did it all for the Panthers with his 3 All Purpose Touchdowns. The Panthers will look to avenge last year's upset to the Vikings and to do so they will need another strong performance from their HB's. Williams and Charles ate up yards on the ground, allowing QB Jimmy Clausen to stay under 20 attempts. If they are able to do that once again and force 4 more turnovers the Panthers will be Super Bowl Bound.
Minnesota Analysis: After a easy victory over the Saints, the Vikings went into Philadelphia and survived a wild game in which neither team seemed to want the ball. 8 combined turnovers was the story (including a 6 minute stretch that saw 5 fumbles), which confused both coaches since it was a crystal clear day. The Vikings were not as sharp on offense and that needs to be corrected as they travel to Carolina. HB Steven Jackson needs to get the rushing game back on track and dominate the time of possession, similar to what the Vikings did in the 1st Round. If they can do that and get some explosive plays from the WR's the Vikings may find themselves back in the Super Bowl.
Game Analysis: One of these playoff games has to come down to the wire and the NFC Championship Game is the perfect place to do it. It's 1 all in the series so far with the owners being tied at 2 so this is anyone's guess. Panthers get the nod due to having 30 wins over the past two seasons and that has to count for something.
Prediction: Panthers 30 Vikings 27 in Overtime
NFC Divisional Playoffs:
1) Carolina Panthers 15-1 vs. 5) Dallas Cowboys 10-5
Carolina Analysis: The Panthers are will play the always dangerous Cowboys as Moss and Fitz will look to send Carolina home early for the 2nd straight year. DeAngelo Williams will be key for the Panthers because if he can control the clock and keep the explosive Cowboys offense on the sideline the Panthers should roll.
Dallas Analysis: Who the fuck is playing QB for the Cowboys because now that it's postseason time that position will be important? It's all about how well the Boys can pass because if they can't move the ball down the field Carolina is too good to shut down all game long. MJD also needs to have a good day to keep the pressure off of the young QB's.
Game Analysis: Should be a good game as both owners are some of the best in T1ML but in the end I expect the Panthers dominance of the NFC to continue. Over the past two seasons the Panthers have only suffered one loss to the NFC and I doubt that changes here.
Prediction: Panthers 34 Cowboys 21
2) Philadelphia Eagles 13-3 vs. 3) Minnesota Vikings 13-3
Philadelphia Analysis:
Minnesota Analysis: The Vikings come off a dominating victory over the Saints as they picked off rookie QB J. Austin 3 times in the 1st half and rolled over the Saints defense at will. This is the blueprint of the what the Vikings want to do, run the ball and play dominating defense to go along with an efficient passing. The Vikings will look to replicate this and keep the dangerous WR's of the Eagles off the field. Defensively the secondary was fantastic as they put the game out of reach in the 1st half but this week is going to be much harder. Robert You won't force as many throws down the field so the Vikings must wrap up as Maclin & Desean are as dangerous after the catch as they come. The front three of Allen, Williams and Long MUST have a big game and get some quick pressure or else it could be a long day.
Game Analysis: Combined these two owners have captured all 5 NFC Championship Games so it's no surprise that they would meet for a third time in the playoffs. Unlike previous meetings where each team boasted a dominate defense, this game will probably be a shootout as neither defense is fantastic. One or two key stops could make the difference in what should be a high scoring game. Peaches won game 1 on a INT late by Mack Jackson, Gold won game 2 on a late English to Boldin TD. Logic says it's time for Peaches to get his win back.
Prediction: Eagles 27 Vikings 24
