Current Standings as of Week 14:
1. Oakland Raiders (12-1)
Oakland has been one of the surprises of T1ML this season, after dismantling the roster in the offseason to load up on draft picks and bring in the probable league MVP, running back Chris Johnson. CJ is on his way to a 3,000 yard season, primarily due to the coaching style of one pass attempt per quarter.
While the Raiders have had one of the softest schedules ever seen, the record is still impressive, and they do hold a blowout victory over the current 2/3 seeded New England Patriots. Look out AFC, better bring your run defense to the playoffs... also some anti-cheese spray.
2. Pittsburgh Steelers (11-2)
The Steelers are sitting pretty at 11-2 with two wins over the other 11-2 team, the Cleveland Browns. Without a test remaining on the schedule, Pittsburgh should finish 14-2 and have a first round bye. After suffering a mid-season suspension for trying to make advances on Coach Superman against his will, Ben "No means yes?" Roethlisberger is back in the starting lineup and is primed to lead his squad to a SuperBowl win.
3. New England Patriots (11-2)
The Pats are currently riding an impressive 8 game winning streak, after their blowout loss to the Dolphins in week 5. Tom Brady and Ronnie Brown are leading the offense while Eric Berry is making huge plays in the NE secondary. The Patriots are going to be a tough out this post-season, and have only one true test remaining on the schedule, when they play the Dolphins for the 2nd time.
4. Indianapolis Colts (10-3)
The defending Super Bowl champions surprised many with their roster moves this off-season, not many organizations would get rid of as much veteran talent that just won the team a championship. There have been lows this season, the most notable being a blowout loss to the Carolina Panthers, one of the NFC's main contenders. Since making a deal for Matthew Stafford at the trade deadline, and getting Reggie Bush back from injury, the Colts offense has been much more dynamic and big play oriented, and recently put up 84 points on the overwhelmed Pittsburgh Steelers. Not having to come to the dome will be a treat for some of the top seeds. We'll see how the players react to the new Colts policy of, "If we lose a playoff game, half your asses are getting traded." Colts finish the season against the Ravens and Browns.
5. Cleveland Browns (11-2)
The Browns were right on the cusp of the post-season a year ago, and came out with something to prove in season 2. Sitting at 11-2, with a franchise QB in Chad Henne and playmaking runningback Felix Jones, the only REAL concern for the Browns is that they haven't been able to handle the Steelers, who have accounted for the Browns only 2 losses. That'll be an interesting storyline should those two teams meet up this post-season. The Browns get a test from another playoff bound team in the Indianapolis Colts in week 17, though it still isn't known if Coach Fonj will grow a pair and play his starters.
6. Baltimore Ravens (9-4)
The Ravens are trying to be the AFC North's 3rd playoff team this season, but they'll have a tough road with two of their remaining 3 games against the Raiders and the Colts. With those two games remaining, look for the Dolphins or Broncos to sneak into the 6 spot, and for Coach Primetime to start his drinking season back up.
