49ers beat the Vikings 56-44!
The 49ers move to 5-2 and 2nd place in the NFC West after defeating the Vikings 56-44.
Majestics Press Release
Reporter: This week the 49ers had one of those midseason important games, they would play the Minnesota Vikings and both teams had something to prove. There was definately no shortage in trash talking this week as both coaches exchanged words frequently. The 49ers did come away with the win, how do you feel about that coach?
Majestic: Well I feel damn good! It feels damn good to face a tough team like the Vikings and come away with the win. My team played good all around and we did everything we needed to win.
Reporter: What was the basis for all the trash talking going around?
Majestic: Just friendly competitive banter, everyone wants to believe they are the best when they go out there, Vikings felt like they had the upperhand and were the better team, unfortunately for them we went out there and proved that we were.
Reporter: The Vikings seemed to put an emphasis on stopping rookie sensation Jelani Okoye and for the most part did, how do you feel the team did as a whole and what players specifically had a good game?
Majestic: I mean I guess when you are used to seeing a guy get close to 200 yards a game 80 yards doesn't seem good but he definately wanted to stop the run. Jelani did also have 2 receptions for 79 yards and 2 TDs through the air so he definately stepped up both on the ground and as a reciever. On offense we have Matthew Stafford who in this type of game had to get us yards and points, he went 17/30 for 400 yds, 8 TDs and 2 Ints. WR Deshawn Tull also had a good game with 3 receptions for 135 yds and 2 TDs. On defense we allowed a lot of points but we also made a lot of plays, Rashad Henderson had an unbelievable stat line with 5 tackles, 1 sack, 1 Int and 1 forced fumble. Brock "the waterboy" Williams also had 5 tackles, 1 Int and 1 forced fumble. Parys Haralson had 2 tackles, 2 sacks and 1 forced fumble. Last but not least Brad Jones had 2 Ints 1 at our goal line that kept 6 pts off the board.
Reporter: This was one of the highest combined scores ever seen in the league what contributed to that?
Majestic: I really don't know the game did seem long. The Vikings go behind early and turned it to an air it out affair, we saw the spread quite a bit, we were a bit more even in our offense with 18 runs and 30 pass attempts, but the game did carry on for a long time.
Reporter: Next week you have your bye week, a welcomed rest or a burden to a streaking team?
Majestic: a little bit of both really, we wanna keep playing and secure our playoff berth but we could use the off week to get our wind back after that long tough game.
Reporter: After the break you have another important game against and NFC West rival Seahawks team, what do you expect from them and what can we expect from the 49ers?
Majestic: Well they have a very potent offense, their WRs and star TE Antonio Gates can catch the ball thats for sure. This offseason they lost Deangelo Williams and gained Frank Gore, we feel we could use this to our advantage, we traded Frank for a reason and those questionable hands will be tested today thats for sure. Matt Ryan is a great young QB who is capable of making all the throws so we will have to mix up our play calling and try and force him into making mistakes. Their defense is good here and there but we feel we can run or pass on them and we will do both early and often. Thats all the time I have for you guys today, gotta catch my plane, see yall next time......
by the way.....
